Through all of our adventures growing up in the west, the members of the Wolfgang team were constantly flanked by faithful, loyal, and furry best friends. While we were fishing, climbing trees, building skate ramps, or hanging out at home watching TV, those dogs were there as our partners, our guardians, our shadows. Neither they nor we would have had it any other way.
Career-wise we’re all product people, having been responsible for bringing thousands of products of all descriptions to market. Headphones to hoodies. Backpacks to boom boxes. Watches to wallets. Headwear to footwear. We’ve been lucky enough to work on some very cool products over the past couple decades.
As we laid the plans for what would become Wolfgang, we sought to combine two of our favorite things; our beloved dogs, and the process of creating world-class products.
Wolfgang was created to celebrate the unique relationship between a dog and his people. We offer American-made leashes and collars for your pup using only the finest American leathers and textiles, plus a distinctive collection of wallets, belts, and t-shirts for you.
We build our products domestically, transport them minimally, and they’ll be replaced rarely.
Following a couple simple steps can take away some of the guesswork:
- MEASURE YOUR DOG'S CHEST BEHIND THE LEGS - The easiest way to measure is to use a sewing or tailor's tape. If you don't have that type of measuring tape, a shoestring, or even a dog leash can be used to wrap around the dog's chest and get a length...by measuring that length with a tape measure or a ruler, you will come up with a good chest measurement. Be sure to consider the dog's fur, and leave enough room for a couple fingers under the harness.
- ORDER A HARNESS BASED ON THE MEASUREMENT - Using our size drop-down menu, pick the harness size that is closest to your dog's chest measurement. If you think you have a "medium" dog, STILL USE THE MEASUREMENT...because even we don't know what a medium dog is. There is a LOT of variability between dogs, even within a breed. It is an imperfect science, but we'll do our best to get you what you need.
PRO TIP: If your dog's chest measurement falls near the end of the adjustment range of a size (like 29.5-inches, which is the top end of the Large harness), you'll need to make a judgement call. Which way would you like the ability to adjust? Is your dog growing? If you think the Large may just barely fit, go for the XL harness.
PRO TIP #2: Our harness sizes are not aligned with our collar sizes... a dog that wears a Medium collar does not necessarily wear a Medium Harness. BE SURE TO MEASURE!!!
